Raised by her grandparents in the small town of Micanopy, her early life was deeply rooted in family values, community service, and unwavering faith. From a young age, she was immersed in music, playing the piano at Sunday school and serving as a delegate for her church. Her grandmother, a nurse, ensured she was involved in various enrichment programs, fostering her love for music and community involvement.
During her formative years at Gainesville High School, Maddam Mya not only excelled academically but also embraced a diverse range of roles, from the school mascot to a wrestler. Her commitment to education and her ability to juggle multiple responsibilities were evident. She continued her pursuit of knowledge at Bethune College and the University of Florida, overcoming financial and personal challenges along the way.
Her music career took a significant turn when she placed third at an event in DeLand, Florida, catching the eye of producer Frankie Biggs Lucio. This recognition marked her entry into the spotlight, leading to international collaborations with artists in Japan and Europe. Her music is streaming worldwide, solidifying her growing presence in the music industry.
